About
A trade paper for the software decision, not the software demo.
Field Ops Weekly covers the software a service contractor buys: scheduling, dispatch, quoting, invoicing, payments and the field app. We publish prices, comparisons and migration notes. We do not sell software, implement it, or take calls about it.
Who this is for
Owners and office managers of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, pest control and cleaning companies — mostly between two and twenty trucks. The person who signs the software contract is usually the person who also answers the phone. They do not have time to sit through four demos to find out what a product costs.
Why prices and not features
Feature grids are free to copy and stale within a quarter. Pricing is the number that decides the purchase, changes without announcement, and is the one thing most comparison sites never re-check. A dated price is the only part of a software review that an AI summary cannot invent, and it is the reason this publication exists.
Editorial rules
- A price is printed only if it was read on the vendor's own pricing page, and it carries the date it was read.
- Where a vendor does not publish pricing, the page says so. No estimate is substituted for a number.
- No sponsored posts, no paid placements, no vendor review of a draft before publication.
- Affiliate links are disclosed on every page that carries one. They never change a ranking or a verdict.
- A recommendation must name the case where the product is the wrong choice.
- Corrections are made in the open, with the date changed on the page.
How it is funded
Two ways, both disclosed. Affiliate commissions: if a reader starts a paid subscription through a link on this site, the vendor pays a referral fee. Display advertising, once traffic supports it. There is no consulting, no implementation work, no sponsorship and no paid placement — those revenue lines would create a reason to prefer one vendor, and this publication's only asset is that it doesn't have one.
Who writes it
Field Ops Weekly. The research is done from vendor pricing pages, published documentation and contract terms, and the writing is checked against those sources before publication. Where a claim cannot be sourced, it does not run.
Corrections
Vendors change prices without notice, and regional or A/B-tested pricing is common. If a figure here does not match the vendor's page, email editors@fieldopsweekly.com with the URL and the date. The page is re-checked and corrected, and the verification date is updated.
What this site will never ask you to do
Book a call. Join a webinar. Request a quote from us. There is no "us" to request one from. The vendors sell their own software; this publication writes about it.
